If you could only watch one show....

There is one thing that I enjoy doing that I don't talk about much. And no it has nothing to do with the Heterolife-mates blog post here. I have mentioned a few times that I really like the game of poker. If you ask Jen I am probably becoming a bit of a junkie. But before you pass judgment, thinking I am becoming a degenerate gambler, and might be worried that I might eventually have guys named Guido coming after me, let me assure you I play for no more than $10 a game at the weekly game with the guys(As always held at the McQuarrie brothers Indian casino and resort, the only casino that can say that it is 100% Indian and resort free)and play nothing but free games 2 days a week and some play money games on the internet. The game of course is Texas Hold'em.

The part about me becoming a junkie is the fact that I read alot about the game, buy books and magazines and so on, and watch it when ever it's on the T.V. I find the game is alot like chess, the mental strategies, figuring odds in your head the whole thing. I like trying to learn the little bits and pieces about the game. I did the same thing with golf, but I can't play that as much any more so poker is the way to go.

Now that the back story is out of the way, I want to focus on the T.V aspect. I definitely watch it a lot, but all the shows have become rather the same. Pro players ,paying a buy-in(usually with sponsor money and such) playing tournament poker where you get knocked out when you are out of chips. But the real bread and butter for these pros are the cash games. Where you have a minimum buy-in and if you get "felted" or run out of chips you can reload your chips at anytime. Make sense? So where is all this poker talk going you ask?

Well the game show network has pretty much the greatest poker show ever. I don't get the game show network but thank Tom Cruise and his witch craft for the internet.

The show is called "Highstakes Poker" and basically it's by invite only and it's real pros playing with their own money, and that's the beauty of it. Their own money...With a minimum buy-in of $125,000...Again of their own money. Some one goes out they can re-buy in. But the fun of seeing these pros throw around stacks of cash and chips is the fun of it. This is truly the best poker show on T.V.....

...Oh you don't like or care about poker?....oh well I guess you can watch this then
