I can't do it...Just can't be done...
Ever since I moved on with life and got the ipod, I had a mission in mind. I started to formulate my plan of attack, the best way to start the mission at hand, and achieve success. That mission you ask?....To pick my 100 favorite songs and create the ultimate playlist and to them put that list here for all 5 of you readers to see.
At the outset this seemed like an easy thing to do, my only limitation was to not include too many songs from any particular band or artist.
So I started going through my itunes that has about 90% percent of my cd collection in it, and making a playlist. This is where the mission that I had picked for myself showed it's self to be the daunting task that it was. I soon had like 200 songs in the playlist and I didn't even get all the way through the collection yet. I started having arguments with myself(that sounds a little strange and unhealthy doesn't it..) I found my self saying well "How can I not include Something- by The Beatles, or Happy by The RollingStones, or Grace,Too by The Tragically Hip. And really I can't decide between In the Ghetto or Suspicious Minds by Elvis..Include them both...But then I would have to take out
the Dave Matthews band Version of all Along the Watchtower from their live in Chicago album...This sucks."
This is when I realized that it can't be done. Top ten movies of all time? Sure that's easy but to go actually go through the thousands upon thousands of songs one knows and to pick the favorite 100? Impossible. It would change by the next day anyway and would never be a complete and true list. So I gave up and just loaded the ipod with everything. Oh well, at least I tried I guess...
