"When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro"

Just a quick note this morning. For those that are fans of the good doctor,or fans of documentaries of interesting things or people i general, I came across this trailer this morning. The story of the literary rebel and creator of gonzo journalism.Seems as though it is based on the book of the same name, which was a very intersting read. I, for one, am very intrigued to see this.

A hodgepodge of Stuff....

A bunch of stuff to touch on today..

1. Today is the day that all of us poker fans(aka junkies) look forward to every year. Today is the official start of the World Series of Poker. It's really like the Super Bowl of poker. A month and a half or so of event after event, leading up to the grand finale of the Main Event. We'll see how this shit goes, they have changed the format this year so when they play the main event, which typically has over 6ooo entrants, they will play down to the final 9, then send every one home for 3 months, then have them come back and play the final table "semi-live" in prime time. not a fan of this idea..leads to too many what if and I think give amateurs an unfair advantage. My prediction on the winner for the Main Event?...some guy you haven't heard of...

2. I am a Kevin Smith Whore as you know and this teaser went up yesterday for the new movie"Zack And Miri Make A Porno", not once frame of film from the movie is in it, just kinda gives you a feel for the movie I guess....but here you go anyway.

BLOGGER IS NOT LETTING ME EMBED THIS THING>>>CHECK IT OUT HERE

3. I have seen a bunch of movie lately, Iron Man(So Good!), Charlie Wilson's War (Phillip Seymour Hoffman is great as usual),21 (Full of that Kevin Spacey Goodness)to just quickly name a few, but if there is one movie that I have seen lately that has stuck with me and that I would recommend that everyone see is "Into the Wild". I was late to the party on this movie, I wanted to see it but never got a chance then it went through all that Oscar Buzz so alot of people have seen it already, but if you haven't make a note of seeing it. Not only is it a great looking movie, directed by Sean Penn) has a great soundtrack( original songs by Eddie Vedder) but the story behind this movie is truly captivating..in my opinion anyway...in case you haven't see it here's the trailer. It's been a long time since a movie has stayed with me like this movie has..

4.For those that read the Hetero-life Mates blog(a link to which is conveniently located at the right )will know that I have indeed started going to the gym. For the last month and a half I stared to really watch what I eat, trying to strictly follow 2000 calories a day. It's a good change and I figure if he can do it, hell it should be no problem. Of course I say that now as i have been to the gym already this morning and sweated my ass. But when that alarm goes of at 530, and by 615 I have already ran a kilometer or so, and I am now doing pull ups and crunches and all other sorts of muscle wrenching shit to myself I quietly curse his name and then I realize that I am PAYING FOR THIS?...oh well it will all be worth it...hahaha

That's it for now. I leave you with the playlist from the ipod for the gym this morning:

1. Testify- Rage against the machine
2. Blue Orchid- The White Stripes
3. Bitch Please II- Eminem, Dr.Dre,Snoop and Xibit
4. Papa's Got A Brand New Bag- James Brown
5. Summer is killing us- The Tragically Hip
6. The Whole World- OutKast
7. Sabatoge- The Beatie Boys

I really didn't mean to take a month off from posting in this little corner of cyber space that I have claimed as my own. but here it is a month since the last post. but today is not going to be long catch up session. Instead I give you a sample of a band that I have recently started listing to. I can't be the first on the Black keys band wagon but if you haven't heard them before check out the video(though it is a fan video and not released by the band...just listen to the music.)
