Did you miss me?....

First off let me sat this could take awhile, so you might want to grab a beverage or something and settle in for something that might actually take 4 min to read. I have a lot to cover and I would normally just split my random and sometimes dopey comments up but computer time is in short supply right now. I don't know when I would have time to " jot down" my little thoughts into my little corner of cyber space for nameless and faceless(and not so nameless and faceless) ip addresses to read and crunch their noses at.

Things have been a little hectic around here and I haven't been home for about two weeks. But let's get to the most important thing shall we?

Something very big happened for me last week. Something that I have been thinking about and wanting to do for a very long time. No I didn't finally get to see Bono receive the beating that I wish he would someday receive and no I didn't finally get to meet Kevin Smith and discuss Star Wars and pop Culture over beers. But I did finally get to see someone in concert that I have wanted to see for a very long time. I was lucky enough to see the incomparable and musical genius of NEIL YOUNG9 as you might have guessed form the above picture. Not only that but I was on the floor for the show. But Not only that, I was literally 10 feet form the front of center stage. i was close enough for Neil to sweat on me and I am pretty sure that we made eye contact and he appreciated the "Harvest" shirt I was wearing.

And he was in fine form, sitting through some band named "Everest" who is signed to Neil's label, and the main opening act "Death Cab For Cutie" was worth every minute once Neil Hit the Stage. The guy is in his 60's and he rocks harder than 95 percent of any performer out there. It was 2 hours of rock bliss. from the opening feedback rock out of "Love and only Love", to the closing frenzy of the Beatles cover " A day in the Life" that he did for the encore he rocked. Sounded great and played a set that wasn't complicated or in accessible but he took old classics that you thought you might not have heard again live and infused than with new passion and a youthful glee that defied his years. Neil Young is along way from being a nostalgia act that is for sure!.

Set List:
Love And Only Love / Hey Hey, My My / Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere / Powderfinger / Spirit Road / Cortez The Killer / Cinnamon Girl / Oh, Lonesome Me / Mother Earth / The Needle And The Damage Done / Unknown Legend / Heart Of Gold / Old Man / Get Back To The Country / Just Singing A Song / Sea Change / When Worlds Collide / Cowgirl In The Sand / Rockin' In The Free World // A Day In The Life

Just to give you a taste I found a bunch of clips from the concert on Youtube. This was taken from about "two rows" of people behind and to the left. I was literally to the right of this person and in front of Neil's Microphone.

So the other big thing is I am back to work. I have started my new career after moving on from the arches. I am currently working in Port Coquitlam and learning how to run and Applebee's restaurant so that we can open here in the hometown early next year. it is a great opportunity with a great new company to western Canada., I already new alot of people involved in the project including the Franchisee who is bringing the restaurants here. For those that don't know Applebee's is the #1 casual dining restaurant in the states. Kind of like a Moxie's big portions of actually pretty good food. Can't wait to get back home to open it bit it does mean sometime away from home. But is very exciting, almost as exciting as Neil Young...lol...

there was more but that's it for now only home for a couple of days and I hear the local diner calling my name for breakfast before it's off to the herto-lifemates homestead for a night of poker tonight. Then back to the big city on Tuesday morning.

with that I am out....
