Jack White:Smartest man music...

Jack White has to be the smartest man in music. He managed to keep the follow-up album ,"Consolers of the Lonely",for his side project "The Raconteurs" under wraps until a week before the release date. No one even really knew it existed yet. They felt that this was the best way to get the album to everyone at the same time, form the Mom and Pop record stores to the big box stores. and the best part?...it's really, really good. Much better than the debut album"Broken Boy Soldiers". Jack Needs to share his secret with the rest of the record business. He's already saved Roc and roll and the carrear of Loretta Lynn...maybe now he can save the rest of the record business world...

DVD dissappointment.

Last night the Hetero-life mate's wife was out and he was home with the kids for the night so we decided to watch a movie as he couldn't go out for coffee, and it just so happens that had I just picked up Christopher Nolan's classic "Memento" after months and months of tring to find it and being told it was out of print and unavailable, it seemed like the night was set.

So I picked up coffee and headed to his house armed with hot caffeinated beverages and a great movie that I had been waiting to watch for a week, still even it's wrapper(much to the heterolife mate's surprise). So I opened up the dvd and that is when the shock of the evening came to pass. As i opened the package two empty dvd holders stared back at me. yup that's right...no fucking discs were in the package. we both couldn't believe it, how could there be no discs in the package, it's like when they forget to out the fries in the bag at the drive-thru. Forget fucking you in the drive-thru, they fuck you on 2 for $30 rack.

Oh well time to call the mindless drones at Futureshop, hopefully they can pull themselves away from gushing about the latest Fall Out Boy album to take my call.

...And Knowing is Half the Battle...

For those children of the 80's out there, we have seen many of our favorite childhood toys, comic books and T.V. shows brought to the big screen. From the god awful "Super Mario Brothers" and "Masters of the Universe" movies to the eye candy (and not so bad)extravaganza that was last summers "Transformers" we have been for the most point disappointed by the poor translations and Dolph Lungren's horrible acting ability.

Well the time has come for another one. It seems next year will be the year of the 80's toy based movie, as joining Transformers 2 in hitting screens will be....G.I.Joe. (If I have to explain G.I. Joe to you...you should just quit reading now.)..yup that's right..Duke, General Hawk, Destro and of course Snake-eyes and Storm Shadow are filming now for release next year. It's been pretty quite on the joe front as to news and pictures...until today, today they did the right thing and relesed pictures of the only Joe that we all hope they get right.....I give you Snake-Eyes from next years movie. Played by Ray Park(He of Darth Maul...again if you don't know what a Darth Maul is...leave this site now...there is nothing for you here..)...

...He looks like Snake-eyes...and seeing as how dude doesn't talk we don't need to worry about that. But I will same judgment till the trailer hits....now if we can just get some Storm Shadow pictures...

New Comic Book Movie Trailer...

As I have stated before I was and still am a huge fan of the comic book medium and as such hold a special place in my movie loving world for all movies based on comic books.

Now I know all of them aren't good (Fantastic Four comes to mind..) but I think the appreciation comes form the fact that when I was a kid, you were always told this or that was being made into a movie, or you would read "Stan's Soapbox" for the latest updates on what was going down in hollywood from the man himself. But alas none of it would ever come to the stage of reality or if it did it sucked ass hard. And you always wanted to bad to see them makes these movies, to see the panels come to life on the big screen with the characters that you read about.

But in this day and age things are much better and there have been some really good comic book movies(Batman Begins, Spider-man 1 and 2, Superman returns, 300, V for Vendetta and X-Men 1 and 2 just to name a few), but one that did disappoint me in the last few years was the Ang Lee Directed "HULK". It was a little arty and highbrow for most comic geeks. I liked it enough to buy it but it just wasn't the HULK SMASH!!, 2 hours of destruction and explosions that befit a movie about the green goliath should have had. But..things are looking up for the lean green fighting machine..a little anyway. A reboot movie has been made staring Ed Norton and Liv Tyler and William Hurt and the always great Tim Roth. Check Out the trailer below, does it look beter than "Iron Man" and it won't do "The dark Knight" Numbers but it does look like what a Hulk movie should look like...

p.s.- Please ignore the annoying australian guy at the beginning. It was the best quality version I could find.

Well at least they are polite about it...

So here's the score so far...Me 1, Tim Horton's 9. I am beginning to think those "This many winner's signs" in the Timmie's are a freakin marketing ploy. I buy enough coffee that I should have won more than one thing by now. i bet you it's beacuse I live in the west. Look at all the winners 95% are from Ontario. Sure they have one on every corner but come on. Well I guess they need something to look forward to... have you seen the Leaf's play?(memo to the Home office...Just kidding..hahah). Oh well, at least they say "Please" play again. So polite...

anyway here's something for the poker fans. sickest hand ever.

How sweet it is indeed...

For the first time since 1993(the last time they won the Cup by the way..) the Montreal Canadiens are in first place in the Eastern Confrence. This despite Ryder not scoring, and trading our starting goal tender away at the deadline. Gainey is starting to look pretty smart in my book. As a side note..please check out the team in 12th...just sayin..it's a good time to be a Habs fan..
