An open letter to those CBC bastards...

To Whom is ever in charge of programming HNIC games:

I must ask...Who in the Toronto Maple Leaf organization is blowing you? Why you ask? Well, it would seem to me that your Saturday night hockey coverage is called "Hockey Night In Canada", should this not mean that it should represent Canada? Maybe showcasing all Canadian teams might be a good idea.

I had no idea that CBC stood for "Toronto Maple Leaf fan club telecasts", all you do is show Leaf games..Every week and the only time we see any other team is when they are playing the leafs, I mean come on...Who the fuck elected the Leafs as Canada's team? Hell even the commentator's seem to be leaf fans. Harry Neale is a biased bastard who in his eye's the Leafs can do no wrong. The Leaf's can be losing 10-0 and Harry Neale would still be saying how well they were playing and how Mats Sundin is the greatest hockey player to ever play the game... fucking christ...

Now these are not just the bitter words of a devoted Habs Fan who wants to see more Habs coverage , but really...give me one good reason why all we get is Leaf games on national coverage? I have no problem with some Leaf games..But I also want to see the Habs and hell even the Senators. You really need to get your head out of your ass and realize that there are more people in this country than Leaf fans. You are not doing the people of Canada a favor, you are merely pissing the nation off with this constant barrage of Leaf propaganda. Wake up you moron we want more than Leaf games damn it...

Wasted time...Fuck I hate technology sometimes...

So I have just spent the last hour writing a blog post about how I feel today's music fans ignore, what I feel, is the most important genre of music in the formation of Rock music, The Blues. But what happens as I go to spell check and post the thing...Computer has a hick up because of a power surge or something(lights flickered) and I lost the whole thing. At this point I don't have the energy to write it out again. So pissed...

The basic argument is that I feel people give too much credit to people like Elvis for creating Rock Music, and fail to acknowlegde the Robert Johnson, Howling Wolf, B.B King, Willie Dixon, and Muddy Waters of the world. If you have never listened to or spent much time with the Blues, go and explore it. You will not find a more honest ,personal, and truly passionate music form.

In the mean time I have an evening of Nhl 07 and High Fidelity to get to. Also as a side note The Tragically Hip are on the Hour with George Stroumboulopolis tonight for the whole hour. I urge you to check it out...

I will merely leave you with today's play list:

Well now, that's kinda a chink in the armour isn't it?

Today was good day, but anytime a new Tragically Hip album comes out is a good day. But more on that later. The real good news came as I was reading the paper, listening to the new Hip album and drinking my Venti Mocha Light Frappacinno at my local Starbucks. I was flipping through the arts section when I came across it. An article about my favorite person in the world. Yes Bono was in the news, and it wasn't good news either.

I have been waiting to see the chink in the Bono\U2 armor for awhile now. I want to see Bono fail and be shown for what he really is..A Rockstar, not the Nobel prize nominated, political, fucking bastard that he comes across as. And today's news shows that. Now what came out today isn't as damaging as if he was found in a Super 8 motel with an 8-ball, 3 dead hookers and that kid from Hansen but for him it comes close.

You see "Mr. Lets strike down African debt and end third world poverty" has been petitioning the government of his home land of Ireland to put more towards the debt relief of third world countries. Money that would come from tax revenue. That's all fine and dandy right, typical Bono. With me so far? So recently the Irish government scrapped a tax break that would allow artists to not pay taxes on royalties.

So what do you think King Bono's reaction was to this? Did he think great more of my money can go to reliving debt because I pay much in taxes, I made 105 million last year you know, so I have leverage with the government. I can set an example for all my other Rockstar friends. Of course not, the hypocritical bastard decided to move the bands publishing company to the Netherlands where he will be paying half the taxes he would be if he stayed in Ireland. Does that make much sense. Is that going to help your cause there Bono? No it just makes you look like a moron. Way to set that example.

Here is a guy that stands on his pulpit and says that the western world needs to help those in the third world, that we need to give more and countries need to give more and all he does when it comes to his vast bank accounts is shudder it up in tax breaks so he can have more. I hope this shuts the bastard up....Fuck I hate this guy and can't express the glee I had to finally see some bad press. Now if music critics would get on board and give a U2 album a bad review maybe we can be rid of this guy...

I am going to go listen to the new Hip album again now...fucking Bono....

What's next an "R" rating for bad driving...

In today's society there are those social habits that really get people going. Drinking, drugs, hot hobbit love(ok I made that up but you know there is some guy making\watching hobbit porn some where..)and of course smoking. These are the things that people really get behind to find a "cure". I mean I am all for people not smoking. However at the same time I have no problems with it, some of my best friends smoke or have smoked. I have always looked at it as a choice to start, and if people start it's their choice to keep going or to stop. Now people will argue that it's an addiction and that people can't just stop and that is what killing people, the addiction. Well, if this is the way you feel, go back and read the last bit again. I said it's a choice to start, but it can turn into an addiction. My argument starts with the starting stage.

I got home from work today, turned on the T.V. and caught this piece on CNN, that says the people in charge of rating movies, the M.P.A.A want to place an "R" rating on movies that depict smoking. They feel this will help people not see instances of smoking, there for cutting down on the amount of people that start smoking because they saw Silent Bob do it. They say that an average person in the key demographic of 16-25 sees 800 instances of smoking a year through the movies and this is what starts them down the "dangerous path of becoming a smoker"...For fuck sakes people. When are people going to realize that people are going to start smoking if they see it in a movie or not. Like I said, and I will repeat in case you you skipped the last bit here.... It's a fucking choice.

I have seen plenty of movies with smoking and I haven't started. I have also seen plenty of movies with car chases, fights, blowing shit up, and mindless gun violence and to this day I have never been in a car chase down an interstate, haven't been in a fight just cause I saw Jet Li beat the shit out of a guy, I haven't bought c-4 on the black market to blow my neighbours car and I haven't shot up a fast-food restaurant just because I couldn't get breakfast. It's like when some sicko kid goes and shoots up the school, they balme the music that happens to be in the cd player when they search his or her home. No one can accept the blame.

The only reason people will start doing that kind of thing is because they are ripe for Jedi-Mind tricks...(did I lose anyone with that reference)...They are week minded. If anyone in this day and age of research and the internet, doesn't know the health risks of smoking then they deserve what comes to them. The M.P.A.A. is an out of date organization, with it's finger up it's ass away from the pulse of society. What is this world coming too. Next thing you know they are going to hire George Lucas(I hear he needs a job)to ditgally remove cigarettes from Humphrey Bogart, James Dean and Marlon Brando movies and replace them with walkey-talkey's. Gimme me a break. This whole I idea is ridiculous.....
